The Warriors Guide to Karma

The Warriors Guide to Karma

By Monica Y. Mateo

I hope you are embracing December and getting ready to bring holiday cheer into your life. I love this time of year — strangers are finally friendly and smiles are on the faces of passerby’s for no particular reason at all. We buy thoughtful gifts for one another and want to bring joy to those we love.

But that time tends to be short lived once January strikes and we begin to focus again on US. We start our resolutions that again bring us right back to numero unoOURSELVES. Ah, what a shocker. So I figured what a great time to write about karma. Let’s end our year on a positive and empowering note. Let’s remove all of our negative karma and also let go of anything that might be hindering our ability to be happy. It’s time to work on bringing in POSITIVE KARMA from this moment forward.

The key to karma is cause and effect. Basically, what you put out — you get right back. People tend to use karma a lot in their conversations with friends. “Karma is a bigger bitch than I can ever be,” “karma will take care of them,” etc. We tend to believe in karma when it comes to the actions of others, but never look at our karma. So I ask you this, based on your actions, what does your future karma look like? Abundance, happiness and positive events or debt, sadness and dark clouds?

Karma is a very basic and simple equation made by the universe. What you give, you get back. What you think, you become. It’s the same equation every single time.

How to remove your negative karma:

  1. Be kind to others even your enemies.
  2. Forgive even if you never get offered an apology.
  3. Don’t spread rumors especially if they ruin another’s reputation.
  4. Forgive yourself.
  5. Meditate.
  6. Say sorry if you wronged someone.
  7. Channel positive energy into the world.
  8. Journal in order to process any negative emotions.
  9. Talk to someone about your feelings and seek out loving relationships.
  10. “Your vibe attracts your tribe.” Surround yourself with people who are loving, kind, and compassionate.

Love, peace, and healing, xo!
